In the design, development, manufacture and delivery of products, it is NSPI’s policy to:

  • Minimize resource usage
  • Minimize the usage of potentially hazardous substances
  • Minimize waste
  • Have due regard to the eventual safe disposal of our products
  • Comply with or exceed relevant environment legislation and regulations
  • Encourage suppliers and subcontractors to achieve similar high standards

RoHS & WEEE Compliance Statement

RoHS and WEEE Compliance Statement (PDF)

RoHS and WEEE compliance statement (PDF)

The following statement is a summary of the position of NSPI with respect to the European Union’s (E.U.) request for compliance to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive 2002/95/EC and to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive 20021 961 EC.

The RoHS directive bans the use of four metals (Hg – Mercury, Pb – lead, Cr(V1) – Hexavalent Chromium, and Cd – cadmium) and two flame retardants (PBB – Polybrominated biphenyls, and PBDE – Polybrominated diphenyl ethers) in certain specified products sold in Europe beginning July l, 2006. The WEEE directive provides for the prevention, recovery and safe disposal of specified electronic waste and required compliance by August 13, 2005.

All NSPI products are considered compliant with the currently released RoHS and WEEE directives.

The products of NSPI either fall under category 9 “Monitoring and Control Equipment” or are incorporated as an integral part of a large-scale fixed industrial tool. They are, therefore, specifically exempted from requirements within the RoHS and WEEE directives.

Independent of the Category 9 exemptions, the majority of NSPI products are currently in full compliance with RoHS and WEEE directives. Should future modifications to the released directives impact our products NSPI will strive to achieve and/or maintain compliance within the published deadlines of the directive.

NSPI is committed to deliver uncompromising quality to customers, and to develop products that have minimal environmental impact. For questions concerning the compliance status of a specific product, please contact our sales department at (512) 434-2800 or email: sales@ultra-nspi.com.

REACH Compliance Statement

REACH Compliance Statement (PDF)

REACH compliance statement (PDF)

The following statement is a summary of NSPI’s implementation of the European REACH regulation for articles governing product components, sub-assemblies, and substances like chemicals, mixtures or preparations.
NSPI supports the objectives of REACH to further improve the European Union’s regulation on chemicals, including the objective to advance public health and safety while protecting the environment.

All manufacturing of NSPI products is entirely outside of the European Union making it unnecessary for the company to preregister the raw materials used in the manufacturing process. NSPI is considered by REACH as an importer of Articles only. Articles which do not release substances through normal use do not require REACH preregistration.
NSPI has investigated all of its raw materials and supplied parts relative to Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), and determined that these substances are not incorporated into any of our processes or products above threshold concentrations.

Please note however, that the European Chemicals Agency, (ECHA), regularly updates the Candidate List of SVHC, and that exploration of SVHCs in NSPI’s products is an ongoing process that NSPI and its suppliers are involved in. This declaration is based on the available information NSPI had at this time. As the information for ECHA is updated, NSPI will continue to evaluate raw materials and products for compliance.
